Sessions up 19% after the move to capital.bank.in
The brief
The RBI asked every bank in India to move its website to a .bank.in address by 31 October 2025. Search traffic had to carry over to the new domain without a drop.
What we did
- Planned the move and the redirect map for every page and file
- Moved the site to capital.bank.in and monitored indexing after the switch
- Kept improving pages on the new domain for loans, deposits and rates
Result
Website sessions rose 19%, users 22%, comparing March to August 2026 with June to November 2025.
143,000 clicks and 3.84 million impressions from Google on the new domain, March to August 2026.
32,582 conversions from Google search from January to September 2026, 75% of the website’s conversions. Visitors from Google converted at 6.65%, against 5.06% for the site overall.
720 sessions came from AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Gemini, and 17.4% of them converted: 3.4x the website average.
